She became a Registered Microbiologist (RM) and as a Medical Technologist was a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
After working in the medical field for many years, Dr. Quintanar questioned the health care and treatments conventional medicine had to offer. Her observation was that patients did not heal nor were they cured. Their health status did not improve and often got worse, even after several pharmaceutical medications. Her interest in seeking other views on medical therapies and treatments for herself and her family led her to the discovery of Naturopathic Medicine & Integrative Medicine.
She discovered the healing power of nature and the power of the doctor as a teacher. She learned to use healing methods without harm, the innate ability of the human body to heal itself, and ways of treating the cause. These principles resonated with her intuition which lead to her study of Naturopathic Medicine at one of six accredited Naturopathic Medical Schools in the US and Canada. Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine is a 4-year program that trains students in pharmaceuticals and natural therapies. She received her naturopathic medical degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine located in Tempe, AZ. Dr. Quintanar taught Nutrition at the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Tucson, AZ.
